Almond Pecan Butter Sauce
This wonderful topping from the St. James Hotel is perfect for Sturdiwheat's Almond-Pecan Pancakes!
Ingredients
- 1 1/4 cups butter
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream
- 1 1/4 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 3 ounces pecan pieces
- 3 ounces sliced almonds
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine 1/4 cup of butter and sugar. Heat over medium heat until the butter is melted.
- Add the whipping cream and vanilla extract. Continue to cook over medium heat until the mixture has reduced by half.
- Cut the remining butter into small cubes. Using a whisk, slowly add the cubed butter to the saucepan.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat when the butter is melted and the sauce has thickened.
- Add the pecans and almonds and let sit for 2 minutes to allow the nut oils to release. Stir well before serving.
