Happy Birthday to our National Parks
You’re invited! If you live in, or visit, our fabulous United States, you’ve been invited to share in the centennial celebration of our national parks. August 25 marks the 100th birthday, and boy, have we got some beauties!
Some of the things we LOVE about our rich parks heritage are: time with family, friends, gorgeous scenery, wildlife, and, of course, CAMP COOKING!
Here is a LINK to your invitation. Our parks are celebrating all year, with August being the centennial month.
These little muffins are actually made in an aebleskiver iron, which we sell on our website. Click HERE. The Recipe is HERE. Great to make in advance and pack in a picnic basket or day pack and take to your favorite park!
Here is Ciff Jacobson, one of our favorite camp cooks, shown making a favorite of his, pizza, with a group. Cliff sells a great camp cooking book on his website.
And our favorite Mississippi River fishing guide, Brian K, rocks his camp cooking with Sturdiwheat Original pancakes, and his favorite coating mix all set up in a shaker to cook his catch with! (Oh, sometimes his catch is fish, sometimes SPAM!).
Wherever you go this year for a vacation, visit a park and enjoy your favorite picnic foods with family and friends!
