Whether you’re new to bread machines or just want a simpler way to bake, this three part series will help you feel confident and excited to get started using a bread machine.

There’s nothing better than the smell of freshly baked bread filling the kitchen. And while homemade bread might sound like a project, it’s surprisingly easy, especially when you pair a bread machine with one of our no-fuss bread mixes.

If you’ve been curious about trying your hand at baking bread at home, or if you’ve had a bread machine collecting dust in the pantry, you’re in the right place. We’re walking you through the basics and introducing you to three bread machines we’ve tested in our own kitchens. Each one works beautifully with Sturdiwheat mixes, and we’ll show you exactly how to get started.

Why Use a Bread Machine?

Bread machines take the guesswork out of baking. No kneading by hand. No trying to figure out if your dough has risen enough. No flour all over the counters. Just add your mix and water, select the right setting and let the machine do the rest.

They’re a game changer for busy families, first time bread makers or anyone who just wants to enjoy homemade bread without the hassle.

Helpful Starting Tips for Sturdiwheat Mixes

Whether you’re brand new to baking bread or have been at it for years, there are a few simple tips that can make a big difference:

  • Use water that’s between 80–90°F. (Water that’s too hot can kill the yeast.)
  • Always measure your water in a clear liquid measuring cup, placed on a flat surface.
  • Bread machines can be affected by humidity. Sometimes you might need to tweak the water just a bit to get the texture you want.

What Makes Sturdiwheat Mixes Special?

Our mixes are made with premium grains and contain no preservatives or GMOs. You just add water, and the rest is taken care of. It truly doesn’t get easier than that.

Sturdiwheat Bread Mixes you can prepare in a snap in a bread machine:

  • Golden Grain White Bread Mix
  • Limpa Sweet Rye
  • Dark Caraway Rye
  • Ole’s Wild Rice
  • Sweet Cardamom
  • Whole Wheat Bread
  • French Baguette–prepare just the dough or a unique flavorful large loaf
