Easter Cut Out Cookies with Icing

Bright…fun…and adorable!

Sturdiwheat’s Sweet As Sugar Cookie Mix makes cut out cookies easy!

Mix Sweet As Sugar Cookie Mix as directed on package. Cover dough and place in the refrigerator for 1 hour or more.

Remove from refrigerator and let dough sit on the kitchen counter for 1 hour or until soft. Cut dough in half and place on floured counter or cutting board. Roll dough into a big circle about 1/4 inch thick. Pick your favorite cookie cutters and cut out desired shapes. Transfer cut out dough to cookie sheets to bake.

Bake at 350 degrees for 10-11 minutes or until edges just start to brown.

Remove cookies to cooling rack and cool completely before icing!

Do ahead tip: Mix before bed, refrigerate overnight, cut out and bake in the morning.

Icing Recipe:

3 Cups Confectioner’s Sugar (powdered sugar)

6 teaspoons of Milk (to thin add a little more)

6 teaspoons Light Corn Syrup

3/4 teaspoon Almond Extract

Assorted food coloring (we like the Wilton Icing Colors) see more at A guide to food coloring

Frost with your favorite colors, sprinkles and don’t forget the eyes!
