Oven Baked French Toast

 

2- Loafs Sturdiwheat Baguette Bread Mix (1 mix makes 2 loafs-prepare as directed and cool)

8- Large Eggs

2 – Cups Milk (2%)

2 – Cups Half & Half

2 – tsp. Vanilla

1/8 tsp. Nutmeg and Cinnamon (optional)

 

Butter 9″ x13″ pan. Slice bread 2′ thick and line pan with 2 layers of bread. Mix eggs, milk, half & half, vanilla and spices. Pour over bread.

Refrigerate, covered overnight.

Heat oven to 350 degrees

 

Mix:

3/4 cup butter (melt just enough to soften)

3 TBSP. Karo Syrup

1 1/3 cups packed brown sugar

 

Pour this mixture over bread mixture and bake uncovered for 1 hour or until puffy and golden brown.

Let stand 5 minutes before serving warm!
