Deb’s Pie Crust Recipe
( makes 2 crusts)
3 cups flour
1 tsp salt
1+ 1/4 cup shortening
Place in medium bowl with a cover and shake until mixed.
( Hang on to the sides of the cover and bowl while shaking)
In another small bowl combine 1 egg, 1 tsp vinegar, 5+ 1/2 TBLS water and mix well.
Add liquid mixture to the dry and shake until a large ball is formed. (This is great arm exercise)
 You will only need one pie crust.
(freeze the other, make another pie for a friend –Â ORÂ –
make cinnamon sugar tarts…mmmmmmmmmmm)
Flour a cutting board and split dough in half for one crust.
make into a ball and slightly flatten…roll into a circle large enough for your pie plate.
Fold rolled out crust in half and then fold in half again, lift onto pie plate, unfold to cover the whole plate and pat in place.
Pinch top edges of dough along edge of pie plate as desired and trim excess.
Fill with your favorite fruit…we used
7 cups peeled and sliced apples (can use any fruit)
combined with 1/2 cup sugar, 1 tsp. cinnamon, 1 TBLS. flour & 1/2 tsp. lemon juice
Mix and put into prepared pie dough.
Mix Sturdiwheat Apple Crisp Topping Mix as directed and sprinkle on top of fruit mixture.
Bake for 50 minutes at 375 degrees.
Serve warm with fresh whipped cream or vanilla ice cream!
Mmmmmmmmmmm…easy never tasted so good.
