Focaccia (Italian Flat Bread)
1 bag of either Golden Grain White, Whole Wheat or Garlic Basil Bread Mix makes 1 large or 2 small
- Make bread in machine on dough cycle, or by hand (let rise an hour).
- Liberally grease round or rectangle cookie sheet with olive oil.
- Place ball of dough on sheet and press out until 3/4” thick. (Let it rest for 10 minutes if it won’t stretch).
- Saute 1/2 thinly sliced red or yellow onion in 2 TBSP. olive oil until translucent, allow to cool.
- Brush top of dough with 2 TBSP. olive oil.
- Lightly score top of bread with Tic-Tac-Toe design.
- Spread onions over top and sprinkle with 1/2 TSP. salt.
- Bake at 400° 25-35 minutes or until golden and firm in the center.
