Focaccia (Italian Flat Bread)

1 bag of either Golden Grain White, Whole Wheat or Garlic Basil Bread Mix
makes 1 large or 2 small

  1. Make bread in machine on dough cycle, or by hand (let rise an hour).
  2. Liberally grease round or rectangle cookie sheet with olive oil.
  3. Place ball of dough on sheet and press out until 3/4” thick. (Let it rest for 10 minutes if it won’t stretch). 
  4. Saute 1/2 thinly sliced red or yellow onion in 2 TBSP. olive oil until translucent, allow to cool.
  5. Brush top of dough with 2 TBSP. olive oil.
  6. Lightly score top of bread with Tic-Tac-Toe design.
  7. Spread onions over top and sprinkle with 1/2 TSP. salt.
  8. Bake at 400° 25-35 minutes or until golden and firm in the center.
