Flag Fruit Torte
4th of July Holiday Dessert…Impress your guests!
- 1 8-oz pkg cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 T vanilla
- 4 oz frozen whipped topping
- Fresh Blueberries, rinsed and dried
- Fresh Strawberries, rinsed, dried, and quartered
- Banana, sliced
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup water
- 2 tsp orange extract
- 1 T lemon juice
- 1 1/2 tsp corn starch
- Pinch of salt
Prepare Sturdiwheat Sugar Cookie Mix according to package directions. Press dough into the bottom of a 9 – 11 inch springform pan. Or use a flat pizza pan. Bake at 350F until the edges begin to turn brown. Cool.
Make glaze. Mix sugar, water, orange extract, lemon juice, cornstarch, and salt in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil and simmer lightly for 2-3 minutes. Cool completely.
Beat the powdered sugar and vanilla into the cream cheese. Fold in the whipped topping. Spread over the crust.
Lightly press the fruit into the cream cheese layer. Brush with glaze.
Cool until ready to serve.
